I’ve been wanting to try out this place since it opened in the Curve but for some reason I never got round to actually doing so. Finally, I managed to drag Jef to have dinner with me here to check out the food and place.

Like most Japanese restaurants, Sakae Sushi has the conveyer belt that serves little colourful plates of sushi. Their prices range from RM1.90 to RM5.90 per plate. There was this nice eggroll sushi we had – it has soft shell crab inside and was wrapped with egg. Cant remember the name but it was yummy!

Ordering is also a breeze here. Every table is equipped with a monitor and a mouse so all you have to do is choose what do you want to order and then when it’s cooked, they’ll send it to you. There is also a hot water tap at each table. This is when you order green tea – they’ll give you a cup and a teabag of green tea and you can refill whenever you want.

I had the Saba Shiyaki & Taufu (cant remember what they called the taufu) which consists of a bowl of rice, miso soup, lightly fried fish & deep fried tofu in soy sauce. Price : RM18.90

The food here is good and quite reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Marche Movenpick @ Curve
12 26th, 2007

Marché (pronounced as Mar-shay), which means “market” in French, is a creative, colorful and innovative restaurant concept developed by the Swiss-based Mövenpick Group. The motto – “Eat in a colorful market-place atmosphere” – is certainly meant to be taken literally in Mövenpick Marché restaurants.

Set in a traditional European marketplace, diners wander around different market stands, chat with the staff and freely select whatever appeals to their palate. Diners see for themselves the abundance, freshness and quality of the produce; smell what’s baking in the ovens; hear the food sizzling; and watch their food prepared right in front of their eyes, fresh from the “market”.

Marché is a treat for all senses!

I had Christmas Dinner with the family at Marche @ Curve. The thing I like about Marche is that they serve all kinds of different food under one roof and its has a ‘marketplace’ atmosphere with an open kitchen concept.

Stuffed Lambloin – RM 30++

Each person is given this piece of paper called a ‘passport’ with empty boxes at the back. When you order, you give them the paper and then they will stamp or write it with your order. I ordered the stuffed lambloin with mushroom sauce. It has a nice crunchy skin with a layer of fats (which should hv been lesser) wrapped around this minced stuffing.

Chocolate Mousse – RM 9

For dessert I shared a chocolate mousse with my sister. Very nice and rich. The food here is slightly pricey tho, especially the drinks. But the food is nice here – especially the Mushroom soup (its to die for!).

Yums!

Hartz Chicken Buffet
12 6th, 2007

This is THE place to go if you like to eat chicken and is extremely hungry because this place serves a chicken buffet! You have fried chicken, grilled chicken, spicy fried chicken, chicken tenders, chicken soup, etc. And besides all their chicken dishes, they have side dishes such as potato chips, bun, mashed potatoes, onion rings, fish fingers, a salad bar, fried rice, assortment of vegetables, free flow of soft drinks and coffee & tea.

The restaurant is located in Sunway Pyramid in LG2.55/55A [website] and is slightly less than RM20 per person. The only bad thing is that it doesn’t allow reservations. I went to eat there during the fasting month and it was PACKED. The chicken is excellent and so is their bun & mashed potatoes. The other dishes are mediocre depending on what it is. But overall, good food at an affordable price.

Donuts stores are all the rage now aren’t they? There’s a wide selection of donuts available at this store with all sorts of toppings and fillings. Its light and fluffy as compared to Dunkin’ Donuts. The best thing about it is that you can eat two without getting sick of it.

The donuts pictured before are (from left to right) : Topped with crushed Oreo, Mango filling in the middle and glazed, Durian filled, Topped with chocolate and filled with chocolate cream, Topped with chocolate with Banana Cream in the middle, Topped with chocolate and nuts.

Several of my favourites are :

Topped with white chocolate and almonds

Green Tea – slightly too sweet but still very nice

Topped with white chocolate and Cheese – savory sweet & salty. I like!

The aforementioned oreo donut in all it’s glory

I usually get half a dozen of these if Im in Curve which costs RM9.50 only. I think its RM2 each and RM17.90 for a dozen, not too sure about it.

This store is part of a franchise which is popular in Indonesia and their first branch in Malaysia was in Curve, Mutiara Damansara. They also just recently opened in One Utama, PJ.
