There’s this place that I really like to go and eat when I’m in One Utama. Its Zuup Soup Bar. Its somewhere on the Ground floor next to Bee’s Bakery. I don’t know why this place is always so quiet and looks like it has no customers everytime I’m there, but don’t be fooled! The food is delicious!

I ordered the Seafood Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl (RM11.90) As you can see, its served in a huge bun that has been hollowed out. Its a creamy rich soup with croutons (cubes of fried bread) on top. It also has a lot of clam, potatoes and other great veggies.

I was there with my youngest sister and she ordered the set. It RM9.90 as well which consisted of ham and cheese toasted sandwich with salad on the side and Pink Guava juice.
Even though its a soup bar, they also serve other food such as Wild Mushroom Cappucino (RM6.90), Minestrone Soup (RM6.90), Pan Seared Dory with Angel Hair Pasta and Cheddar Garlic Sauce (RM17.90), Rack of Lamb with Rosemary and Mint Sauce (RM20.90). Prices might differ slightly.
I feel hungry just writing about it. Hehe! Sadly not many people know of this yummylicious place! Go and check it out.

Pak Li Kopitiam @ Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang
Pak Li Kopitiam just opened a branch in Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara and we were talking about checking it out but never got round to actually doing it. However one day I was at Klang and we were deciding where to eat when we settled on Pak Li since I’ve not been there.

When I go to these kopitiam type of shops I always make it a point to try their Roti Bakar to make comparison. Pak Li’s roti bakar is using brown bread (similar to Old Town White Coffee but not as brown). They used Pandan Kaya instead of the normal plain Kaya.
He had the Nasi lemak which came with the usual peanuts, ikan bilis, half an egg, cucumber and sambal. They also had curry chicken and sambal sotong. The different thing about their nasi lemak is they also give Fried Taufu. Tastewise it was just okay.
I had the Lemon Chicken Rice. Not recommended. I mean look at the picture. Doesn’t it look utterly unappetizing? The chicken was dry and the sauce was yukky. I would take RCH over this anytime.
In conclusion, its just an average kopitiam. Nothing special to shout about. Can’t remember the prices sorry! They have a lot of outlets tho. Read more in their website : http://www.paklikopitiam.com.my
Aree was craving for mashed potatoes at around 10.30pm and so we were asking friends for recommendations of places to find western food at that hour.
We decided on Williams in Kelana Jaya. Its a roadside stall selling all kinds of food but their specialty is western food. The portions are really huge, especially if you order ‘special’

We had mango blended – a refreshing ice blended drink with mango and lychee and some nate de coco. If im not mistaken it was around RM5 or 6.

Erin had Indomee goreng (double) with beef bacon. It came with a fried egg. Very sedap and peppery. Not sure how much it was tho.
Aree had Surf and Turf – A piece of steak and a huge prawn. The prawn was boiled then the flesh all scooped out and cook Thermidor style (like Lobster thermidor) in a creamy sauce. The steak was nice and tender with mashed mushroom topping. It came with some pickle, mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce.
Price : RM 40
I had the lamb ribs. Three HUGE ribs, all most 25cm long. Not too dry or tough with a yummy mushroom sauce. Served with mash potatoes and cream sauce. I didnt quite like the mint sauce because it was spicy and tasted like that mamak mint thingy they served with tosai. But the lamb was delicious.
Price : RM30
All in all, we had a really filling dinner/supper at the cheap price of RM100 for three of us, that’s RM34 each. I doubt you could get that kind of price in a posh restaurant.
Williams
Coming from Puchong side via the LDP, the Kelana Jaya station is on your right and on the left is the bus stop. After the overhead pedestrian bridge, turn left. At the 2nd traffic light, turn left. After the 7-eleven, turn right. Williams is the last shop at the left side of the road, the one with lots of people.

I love this place, especially in the evenings. Its like a kedai mamak but I like the setting there. Its very airy with loads of seats and tables. We used to play Catan (a type of board game) a lot there.
One of the cheapest places to eat in the Curve – if you don’t mind mamak food that is.

We had 2 sets of roti bakar (RM3.80), one Teh Ais (RM2.00), one Kopi O Panas (RM1.30) and one Teh O Ais (RM1.70). Total bill was RM9.68

This shop recently opened in Ikano sometime late last year offering steamboat. Each table is specially made with a small electric stove in front of each seat. You then have a choice of tomyam soup or clear soup.

In the picture above, the bottom left is our combo set of raw food. The round metal bowls are filled with soup and heated from below using the electric stove. The bowl on the top is the additional Tong Fu Zhu we ordered.
We had the Combo Set for two people (RM29.80) which has cabbage, prawns, mee, taufu, fishballs, sliced fish, crab sticks, foo chuk, etc. Then we ordered additional Yong Fu Zhu – its this foo chuk thingy with some minced fish which is deep fried (RM2.80). Then we also had Fried Seafood Taufu (RM4.00) and 3 glasses of Herbal Tea (RM6.00).
Bill came up to a total of RM42.60.
Food is fresh. Nothing that smells or tastes funny. The tomyam soup was extreamly pedas though. The clear soup is just basic stock. According to the menu, there are a few different types of sets, especially the individual ones where you can chose to have lamb, salmon, prawns and all sort of other meat.

Yey! I finally had a chance to eat at Carl’s Jr after it opened so many many months back. Went to One Utama to jalan2 for a bit and was looking for dinner when my fren decided to eat at Carl’s, especially after he found out that I haven’t eaten there yet.
The burgers are humongous! Yea I know, I’m like the last person to find out about that
Anyway, I had the guacamole bacon burger (just the burger) and he had the large set (some burger + large fries + large drink). And the bill came up to about 40 bucks but with free refill for drinks and pickles.
My verdict : Very filling and huge burgers, but a little pricy so its good for an occasional indulgence but not something I’ll eat often.
Its in One Utama, in the old wing on the same floor as Genki Sushi
