Located in Millennium Square PJ, Piccadilly’s is a great shop to hangout. The food is nice and the price is ok. They have like more than 200 foods and drinks listed on the menu ranging from Westerns, Italians, Indians, Chinese and of course Local delights. We have been going to Piccadilly’s for quite number of times already, but only recently took pictures of the food we ordered.

Tandori Chicken
Tandoori Chicken (RM5.00) – quarter of chicken marinated in red colored spices. Nice but nothing special about it. Served with mint sauce and some veggies.

Spicy Fried Calamari
Spicy Fried Calamari (RM9.00) – deep fried calamari served with Thais chili sauce, my girl said not as nice as the prawn fritter. As for me it doesn’t deserves a “spicy” title if it only meant to be dipped in the chili sauce. Read the rest of this entry »

There’s this shop next to Sushi Zanmai in One Utama that is rather like a grocery store. After some digging around, i found that the shop is called Shojikiya – The Japanese Food Specialty Store.

They were selling their ice cream at RM5.90 each for any selection. They also have family packs (bigger packs of the icecream). G and I popped in the other day to have some icecream.

G had the Blueberry Cheesecake Flavoured ‘Cake stick’ and I had the Fish shaped wafer icecream (Click for bigger pics)

The Cake Stick is ‘cheesecake’ flavoured iced confectionary with some blueberry jam inside it. Its not smooth milk based icecream but rather a frozen type of icecream, like frozen yogurt or something. Quite nice though I find it a bit weird to have artificially flavoured cheesecake icecream.

I had this fish-shaped icecream. Its a soft wafer molded in a fish shape. Inside is white vanilla icecream with a layer of red beans at the bottom of it. Its really good. Not too sweet and not too much icecream or too much red beans. I would really buy this again. This icecream is sold in Sushi King for almost rm10!

We also took the opportunity to browse through their small shop. They have so much stuff there ranging from plum drinks, little sweet cookies, cake mix (you know, like those Betty Crocker stuff), chocolate, sweets and of course ice cream. Will check out more of the other products later

Black Canyon Coffee
12 12th, 2008

I was browsing through my photos when I realized that I’ve not written a post about this. It was some time ago when my friend and I were looking for places to have dinner in Jusco Bukit Tinggi when we popped into Black Canyon Coffee because I’ve never seen it before. At first I thought this was a place like Starbucks and CoffeeBean which primarily serve drinks and sandwiches/salads/pastries. Boy was I wrong.

They have special set menus for Lunch and Dinner. RM9.90++ for a main dish and one drink. RM12.95++ for a main dish and soup and dessert (1 scoop of icecream). They also have Family Set A (for 2 people) at RM24.90++ and Family Set B (for 4 people) at RM39.90++

We had the Family Set A (for 2 people) which includes Spicy Tuna Salad, Chicken Tom Yum Soup, Fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts and 2 steamed rice. My friend had a coke and I had iced milk tea.

They have really comfortable sofas scattered all over the restaurant and also proper dining tables and chairs.

The milk iced tea was soooo good. Milky without being too overpowering and not too sweet either. I forgot how much it was exactly but I do remember it being a bit pricier then usual.

The rice came served in rectangle blocks on square plates. I thought it looked so cute! This is the mix vegetables we had to replace the spicy tuna salad – because I didn’t feel like eating spicy food.

This is the Chicken Tomyam we had. It was full of chicken slices and soupy. It was not too spicy nor too thick. Even though it looks a bit watery, fear not because its not watered down at all. The chicken with cashewnuts was also very nice with generous cashewnuts. It seems like they fried the chicken pieces before stir frying it with the other ingredients.

Interestingly enough, we did not have any of their coffees. But the food was good and quite reasonably priced. They also have an outlet in Centerpoint, Damansara and the food standard is the same in that outlet as well.

I’ve been wanting to drop by at this sandwich bar ever since I had their awesome beef sandwich in their KLIA outlet last year. G and I were in Ikano to go to the Pos Office to send some packages (that didn’t get sent because the P.O. closed at 5pm instead of 6pm for ramadhan).

They are currently having this promotion on some sandwiches. Its now only RM11.90 for a Sandwich + Norwegian Coffee or Hot Tea – either Earl Grey, Jasmine Green Tea, English Breakfast Tea, Pure peppermint Tea, Pure Camomile Tea or Darjeeling Tea.

There are four sandwiches you can choose from:

> Dancing Chicken with Mushroom – Healthy brown bread, mushroom, smoked chicken breast, mayo relish, salad, tomatoes, cucumbers and alfalfas
> Herby Rosemary Roasted Chicken – Healthy brown bread, rosemary chicken, oregano butter, lollo bionda, mix salad, sliced cheese, cucumbers & tomatoes
> Swimiming salmon - Healthy brown bread, salmon, cream cheese, lettuces, asparagus, red onions, cucumbers & alfalfas
> BBQ Bugwich – Healthy brown bread, chicken burger, BBQ mayo, lollo bionda, mix salad, tomatoes, onions and ketchup sauce

Plus, you can add RM 3 for Fresh Juice or a Pastry

I had the Herby Rosemary Roasted Chicken. Its a nice blend of chicken and rosemary. G didn’t really like the rosemary taste because its too strong for her so she got the Dancing Chicken with Mushroom. Equally nice.

And for only RM11.90, its such a steal! They also have a Ramadhan Delight Sandwich (RM11 + Hot Tea) with Mayo, lollo bionda, mix salads, roast beef, tomato, onions, blackpepper sauce & alfalfa.

p/s: one thing I dont like about the Ikano branch is that, its a Sandwich Bar, and yet there are no sinks to wash your hands in

Yes, I’m a big fan of banana leaf rice even though sometimes its a bit too expensive. However, G brought me to this place near SS2 called Kanna Curry House for an affordable banana leaf rice.

There are three places to sit in Kanna’s. One is inside where its air conditioned, the other is an open air restaurant (like a normal kedai mamak) and finally tables and chairs across the street under the trees. We sat inside because it’s easier to order and we don’t smoke.

G had a Thosai Rawa (RM1.50) and I had banana leaf rice (RM4.80). The mamak came with a clean piece of banana leaf and piled on the white rice. Then the usual three types of vege are served. On that day they had cabbage, cucumber and long beans. It also comes with the papadum.

We also ordered the sotong goreng (RM6.50). Yes, the picture above is a huge plate of fried sotong with onions. I had one Fish Cutlet (RM2.00) which was dry and rather tasteless. We had three drinks – Milo Ais (RM1.80), Limau Ais (RM1.40) and Mango Lassi (RM4.00).

Directions to get to Kanna Curry House : From SS2, if BHP is on your right, drive straight till you reach a T-junction with a traffic light. Turn left and continue down that road. Turn left at the next T-junction after the shoplots. Kanna Curry House is on the shoplots on the right side.

Zuup @ One Utama
03 20th, 2008

There’s this place that I really like to go and eat when I’m in One Utama. Its Zuup Soup Bar. Its somewhere on the Ground floor next to Bee’s Bakery. I don’t know why this place is always so quiet and looks like it has no customers everytime I’m there, but don’t be fooled! The food is delicious!

I ordered the Seafood Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl (RM11.90) As you can see, its served in a huge bun that has been hollowed out. Its a creamy rich soup with croutons (cubes of fried bread) on top. It also has a lot of clam, potatoes and other great veggies.

I was there with my youngest sister and she ordered the set. It RM9.90 as well which consisted of ham and cheese toasted sandwich with salad on the side and Pink Guava juice.

Even though its a soup bar, they also serve other food such as Wild Mushroom Cappucino (RM6.90), Minestrone Soup (RM6.90), Pan Seared Dory with Angel Hair Pasta and Cheddar Garlic Sauce (RM17.90), Rack of Lamb with Rosemary and Mint Sauce (RM20.90). Prices might differ slightly.

I feel hungry just writing about it. Hehe! Sadly not many people know of this yummylicious place! Go and check it out.
