After two attempts to eat at places which didn’t have what I wanted to eat – IKEA ran out of chicken wings and Absolute Thai didn’t have the steam siakap or beef – we finally settle at Tony Roma’s.

Actually they didn’t have the Baked Potato Soup – yea i know, it was really not my day – so we had two different appetizers and one ribs to share.

This is the Asian Bites. I think we salah order because we wanted Buffalo Bites but didn’t realize it till we were halfway through. Its boneless chicken pieces in a batter, fried then thai sweet chilli sauce poured on top. Quite nice but I think i prefer buffalo wings = RM 17.90

This is a bowl of fried mushrooms. The batter is nice and it comes with a honey mustard dip. Its a really big portion so maybe its not so ngam to order with just 2 people because you’d feel muak. RM 16.90

This is a Full Slab of Tony Roma’s Steak. It consists of 5 huge ribs with sticky meat stuck on it. You can choose your own two sides – salads, mashed potatoes with (beef) bacon bits, fries, baked potato, corn or rice. I wouldn’t suggest the Mashed potato, it doesn’t hv any gravy so it feels rather dry. RM69.90

For dessert we had a Apple Crisp ala Mode. its like an apple crumble with a scoop of vanilla icecream on top and drizzled with caramel. The “crisp” part wasn’t enough I think and the apples were sourish but coated in a thick, overly sweet sauce. Rm 14.90

We both had Ice Lemon Tea (refillable) for RM6.90 each. I like the Ribs at Tony Roma’s but in terms of value, I find Chilis more affordable. But the ribs here is still hands down one of the best

p/s: The restaurant charges a 10% service charge and 5% govt tax.

Tony Roma’s Restaurant
Lot G-29(II), G-32 & G-33,
Ground Floor, Mutiara Damansara
47800 Petaling Jaya
Selangor

Located in Millennium Square PJ, Piccadilly’s is a great shop to hangout. The food is nice and the price is ok. They have like more than 200 foods and drinks listed on the menu ranging from Westerns, Italians, Indians, Chinese and of course Local delights. We have been going to Piccadilly’s for quite number of times already, but only recently took pictures of the food we ordered.

Tandoori Chicken (RM5.00) – quarter of chicken marinated in red colored spices. Nice but nothing special about it. Served with mint sauce and some veggies.

Spicy Fried Calamari (RM9.00) – deep fried calamari served with Thais chili sauce, my girl said not as nice as the prawn fritter. As for me it doesn’t deserves a “spicy” title if it only meant to be dipped in the chili sauce.

Cream of Mushroom (RM3.00) – a bowl of mushroom soup that comes with a piece of toasted bread which is (I quote from my girl) “TAK SEDAP”. I don’t really know what to comments as I hate creamy soup.

Mutton Beriyani (RM9.90) – I ordered this to try the mutton and apparently it’s quite nice. A bowl of mutton beriyani with beriyani rice plus half of boiled egg and some veggies. I’m quite disappointed that they don’t allow us to order only the mutton as it only served as a set. Too bad I can’t have it with naan.

5. Baked Seafood (RM10.90) – my girl ordered this is and from the first scoop of it, it’s noticeable that the dish is rich with cheese. I mean REALLY RICH. It’s like you’re having pieces of seafood in cheese >.< but I wonder why didn’t they served it with (garlic) bread instead it was served with French fries and veggies.

For desserts, ABC Special (RM4.00) for my girl and Peach Banana Split (RM6.90) for me

As for the drinks my girl ordered a (so-so) Peppermint Paddy (RM7.90) and Mango Pimlico (RM4.90) – more of a dessert than a drink – for me. Sorry no images of those. Oh, and they charge RM0.50 for iced/warm water.

So all and all, the food is nice, the environment is nice and the price also nice. I would suggest this shop you to give it a try. Keep in mind that even though I mention that some of the food is not really nice, it is only based on our taste buds and well u still have more than 200 choices to choose from >.<

- IcedNyior

So after having a problem on where to eat, we decide to go to Italiannies at The Gardens. As its name, it is an Italian theme restaurant that serve Italian food (duh >.<). They have an “open air” style seating outside the restaurant and plenty of seats inside.

The restaurant setting is (as quoted from my girl) nice, romantic and high class. Oh and quiet too, nice place to have a romantic dinner but be sure to ask table further away from their kitchen.

Anyway after we seated, complimentary bread with olive oil plus balsamic vinegar was served. The bread was nice, seems that they baked it fresh daily. Was asking my girl whether do we have pay for it or not if we decide not to eat there XD

Anyway after browsing thru the menu, we decided to get:

1. For appetizer we ordered a Quattro Platter (RM25.90) – mix of fried risotto, fried zucchini, fried cheese balls and fried squid with cheese and tomato dips. For me the zucchini and squid is nice, the cheese a bit funny and the risotto is out. As for the dipping, tomato dip is rather nice compare to cheese dip.

2. For entrée we ordered Shrimp Fra Diablo (RM32.90) – fettuccini with red sauce with a lot of shrimps in it. Nice taste, but not spicy enough (yes they do served it with chili flakes but the taste don’t go together).

3. And Bianco Pizza (RM37.90) – a 12” pizza with got pepperoni, minced beef and chunks of chicken with no vege at all. As a carnivore, I find that the topping is not that satisfying (or should I said not as advertised in the menu >.<)

4. For dessert, we order Chocolate Hazelnut Cake (RM11.90) – 2 slices of brownies if you ask me. Kind of a bit too hard to be called a cake. The nicest thing about the cake is it is served with hazelnut.

5. For drinks I ordered a bottomless of Pepsi Max (RM6.80) while my girl order a Ripe Mango Shake (RM8.50) and Earl Grey Tangerine Tea (RM5.80).

All and all, it was a good place to hangout but be sure to sit away from the kitchen. Foods was so so and pricy. So I would recommend the place for the place itself but not the food >.<.

I’ve been craving for some Palak Paneer so I suggested to my fren that we eat in Indian Kitchen, a small place that serves northern and southern indian dishes tucked in the middle of Jalan Telawi 3 amongst the rows of bars and cafes.

We went around early afternoon and thus, the restaurant was quite empty because the lunch crowd hasn’t came yet. We decided to order a few items off the menu after asking the helpful waiter to explain the dishes.

Garlic Naan (RM4) & Cheese Naan (RM5) - The naan here is not round (like in some mamak shops) but in a big tear/pear shape. Not that it makes a difference actually. I like that it doesn’t taste ‘floury’.

Mango Lassi (RM7) – Its quite thick and yellow. Full of mango taste and slightly sour. I thought it was quite nice – tho better if it was colder. Fren didnt like it tho.

White Rice (RM3) - A bowl of white rice. A bit expensive. No free refills (its not a banana leaf shop after all)

Palak Panner (RM14) – Spinach mashed and cooked with goat’s cheese. This dish is creamy, almost like a soup and is excellent for dipping naan in.

Chicken Tikka (RM 14) - Boneless Tandoori Chicken. This one was nice. The marinade was flavored with spices and was slightly spicy. The meat was tender and juicy

Mutton Rohan Josh (RM18) - As you can see, its a really creamy sauce with chucks of mutton inside. This was not spicy (even tho we did ask for it to be spicy) and the sauce was really good. What I didn’t like was the mutton appeared to hv been cooked separately, then just tossed in the sauce. So the mutton tasted bland.

All in all, the food was pretty good. Well except that the mutton was a bit of a disappointment lah. The ambiance was also nice. I liked how there was a aircon and non-aircon area. Also, there wasn’t the overwhelming smell of food even tho they had an open kitchen (separated from the eating area by a clear partition). The waiters were also helpful to explain the items on the menu because they weren’t any descriptions.

I think we will be coming here again. Oh yes, after some googling, i found out that you can actually order items off the menu if the owner – Shiva – is around.
