This blog is mainly written by me, IcedNyior, but occasionally, I get the beau to write the posts. So this will be tagged “He Eats”. Hehe…enjoy!

So after having a problem on where to eat, we decide to go to Italiannies at The Gardens. As its name, it is an Italian theme restaurant that serve Italian food (duh >.<). They have an “open air” style seating outside the restaurant and plenty of seats inside.

The restaurant setting is (as quoted from my girl) nice, romantic and high class. Oh and quiet too, nice place to have a romantic dinner but be sure to ask table further away from their kitchen.

Anyway after we seated, complimentary bread with olive oil plus balsamic vinegar was served. The bread was nice, seems that they baked it fresh daily. Was asking my girl whether do we have pay for it or not if we decide not to eat there XD

Anyway after browsing thru the menu, we decided to get:

1. For appetizer we ordered a Quattro Platter (RM25.90) – mix of fried risotto, fried zucchini, fried cheese balls and fried squid with cheese and tomato dips. For me the zucchini and squid is nice, the cheese a bit funny and the risotto is out. As for the dipping, tomato dip is rather nice compare to cheese dip.

2. For entrée we ordered Shrimp Fra Diablo (RM32.90) – fettuccini with red sauce with a lot of shrimps in it. Nice taste, but not spicy enough (yes they do served it with chili flakes but the taste don’t go together).

3. And Bianco Pizza (RM37.90) – a 12” pizza with got pepperoni, minced beef and chunks of chicken with no vege at all. As a carnivore, I find that the topping is not that satisfying (or should I said not as advertised in the menu >.<)

4. For dessert, we order Chocolate Hazelnut Cake (RM11.90) – 2 slices of brownies if you ask me. Kind of a bit too hard to be called a cake. The nicest thing about the cake is it is served with hazelnut.

5. For drinks I ordered a bottomless of Pepsi Max (RM6.80) while my girl order a Ripe Mango Shake (RM8.50) and Earl Grey Tangerine Tea (RM5.80).

All and all, it was a good place to hangout but be sure to sit away from the kitchen. Foods was so so and pricy. So I would recommend the place for the place itself but not the food >.<.

I’ve been wanting to drop by at this sandwich bar ever since I had their awesome beef sandwich in their KLIA outlet last year. G and I were in Ikano to go to the Pos Office to send some packages (that didn’t get sent because the P.O. closed at 5pm instead of 6pm for ramadhan).

They are currently having this promotion on some sandwiches. Its now only RM11.90 for a Sandwich + Norwegian Coffee or Hot Tea – either Earl Grey, Jasmine Green Tea, English Breakfast Tea, Pure peppermint Tea, Pure Camomile Tea or Darjeeling Tea.

There are four sandwiches you can choose from:

> Dancing Chicken with Mushroom – Healthy brown bread, mushroom, smoked chicken breast, mayo relish, salad, tomatoes, cucumbers and alfalfas
> Herby Rosemary Roasted Chicken – Healthy brown bread, rosemary chicken, oregano butter, lollo bionda, mix salad, sliced cheese, cucumbers & tomatoes
> Swimiming salmon - Healthy brown bread, salmon, cream cheese, lettuces, asparagus, red onions, cucumbers & alfalfas
> BBQ Bugwich – Healthy brown bread, chicken burger, BBQ mayo, lollo bionda, mix salad, tomatoes, onions and ketchup sauce

Plus, you can add RM 3 for Fresh Juice or a Pastry

I had the Herby Rosemary Roasted Chicken. Its a nice blend of chicken and rosemary. G didn’t really like the rosemary taste because its too strong for her so she got the Dancing Chicken with Mushroom. Equally nice.

And for only RM11.90, its such a steal! They also have a Ramadhan Delight Sandwich (RM11 + Hot Tea) with Mayo, lollo bionda, mix salads, roast beef, tomato, onions, blackpepper sauce & alfalfa.

p/s: one thing I dont like about the Ikano branch is that, its a Sandwich Bar, and yet there are no sinks to wash your hands in

I had an interview at The Gardens today so I brought Gladys along because she hasn’t been to The Gardens. Anyway, we decided to have tea at The Yogi Tree. Their tag line is “real food cafe & yoga boutique”. Its a really nice cozy corner restaurant with ample sofas and comfortable seats and tables.

We had the Afternoon Tea Set (RM38.00). The tea set includes a pot of tea, scones with cream and jam, a cake and sandwiches. We had a pot of Rosehip tea – a reddish tinted slightly sourish tea. They were out of scones so we had to choose between an additional dessert of our choice or more sandwiches. We chose the sandwiches.

G chose the Chocolate Truffle Cake which was an awesome awesome rich chocolatey cake. It was moist and creamy. Its served with some clotted cream. Sorry for the bad cake picture coz we were hungry and attacked it before remembering to snap a picture.

This is the yummy sandwiches we got. This is a double portion (due to the fact that they were out of scones). The open faced sandwiches are with salmon with some kinda really nice sauce which I can’t really put my finger on. The other sandwiches are chicken with something like pesto. Absolutely delish!

Yogi Tree has a 10% Service charge on top of the prices. It was a good RM41.80 spent on tea with my sister. A bit pricy but so yummy
